Issue 12

Forcing art onto molds is difficult and, frankly, annoying. We do not consider this an issue her. Since Ward was launched, we aspired to end the stereotypes surrounding art and artists and the images they are obliged to adhere to. We ask artists to challenge those molds and create their own templates. The topic of our upcoming issue, the Gender Issue, was chosen as part of that message: ending molds that limit our ability to express our existence and experiences creatively. We are also reading Mohja Kahf’s poetry collection for Ward Reads, in which she challenges the molds she was enforced to adapt to.
