Anima Vestra

As I sink in the room of

My misery and agony, I

Drown my body in tunes to

subdue the cogent screams.

The crowds screech and

Boo the sounds away to

Rule my head and instead

Ride and run chaotically.

They fill the empty shells on

The shelves of my vacancy with

False beliefs and toxic envy so

I use my vocabulary to

get in touch with reality.

Here’s to the awful lawless who

Molded me with cold hands into

Fake fragments barely intact, made

Of the offals of his unstaid insanity.

And here’s to the herd from whom

I never heard a single word of

Kindness or mercy through

Fields of my insecurities.

The voices came back with

A plan they thought meticulously

With stares and faces straight they

Said “Libera anima vestra,” simply:

Free your damaged soul and give yourself some liberty.
