I'm thrilled to share Issue 21 with you. This issue includes poems, paintings, and digital drawings that discuss isolation, mental health, and hope.
For this issue, we talked to Meshaal Alzeer about his upbringing and art career. We also include the third part of Razgi, alongside the masterpieces our attendees made during our first Kan yama kan workshop last Friday.
We’re very thrilled to announce our new initiative, Kawalees, and share it with you. We invite you to submit your work to this initiative, our General Issues, and the Religion Issue.

Razgi
In the third part of Razgi, Marwa Alqatari introduces us to her favorite drawing tools, techniques, and everything in between!
Saudi cinema is experiencing unprecedented growth, and we’re thrilled to launch our new initiative: Kawalees. Press here to learn more about it!
Kan yama kan #1: Zine-Making with Fatima Al Jarman
We love stories at Ward, and that’s why we started the Kan yama kan initiative in collaboration with Unootha. The main goal is to introduce everyone to new tools and media they can use to tell their own stories.
Our first guest, Fatima Al Jarman, taught us how to make zines. Press here to learn more about the workshop and see the masterpieces our attendees designed!
Submit to our upcoming issues!
We release two types of issues: General issues and themed issues. General issues are released monthly, and we accept submissions (literally) 24/7. Themed Issues are released every 3 months, and our upcoming themed issue is the Religion Issue.
General Issues
We believe that art does not come in one shape or medium. We invite all artists who are based in Saudi, regardless of age, nationality, or background, to submit to our General Issues. You’re welcome to submit your work anytime for our monthly general issues here.
Religion Issue
Since our definitions and experiences with religion vary, and different factors contribute to shaping them, we ask you to join us in exploring these unique journeys and practices in our upcoming themed issue: Religion.
Submit your sketches, paintings, collages, photographs, journal entries, articles, videos, and anything in between by April 10, 2021. Press here for more information.
