Ward’s main goal is highlighting and amplifying artistic talent in and from Saudi in all its forms. Similarly, Huna is a creative workspace for creatives and talents in food, art, and cultur. Since Huna’s vision aligns with our mission, a connection rooted in community building around local talent instantly formed between us. And that’s why we’re collaborating with them to create new and fresh art programs to life at their space, Huna Takhassusi.
We kicked off our collaboration with a conversation with Ward’s founding editor-in-chief, Khaled Alqahtani. Khaled shared with the community of Ward and Huna the story of Ward since its launch in 2017 from Tabuk until today. He went over Ward’s issues, artists, exhibitions, workshops, and current and upcoming projects.
The conversation then began with Khaled and other community members about the current Saudi art scene, independent Arab online publications, and the future of inclusion of underrepresented in major Saudi art spaces. We’re incredibly grateful to build community with people whose practice and platforms are dedicated to creating and cultivating spaces that include and center all artistic talent, especially talent that is often excluded and overlooked. We look forward to seeing how this collaboration between Ward and Huna continues to flourish with your contributions and art!
